About Ashley

Hello! I’m Ashley. I’m a 24 year old self-proclaimed “young professional”–and yes, I’m still trying to figure out what that means. I make my home in the countryside of Western Massachusetts where I grew up, but have dreams of relocating to a large city in the future.

Ashley as a Person: I’m drawn to things that inspire me and spark my creativity. I enjoy everything artistic and beautiful. In my spare time I perform in community theater, sing, occasionally try to teach myself guitar, write short fiction with elements of magical realism, volunteer for autism awareness (among other things if I can), and try to cook at least two new recipes a week.

I’ve traveled to a handful of cities in Europe and the US–all on my own dime by saving and doing it on a budget. I try to visit two new places a year if possible. I studied abroad in The Netherlands in college and have had the travel bug ever since.

Ashley as Young Professional: I am a graduate of Emerson College with a BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing and currently work in marketing for a local energy company.

I began teaching myself HTML at age ten, and the rest is pretty much history. Since then, this passion has expanded to the rapidly expanding world of online social media. I am well-versed in promotion via Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, Linkedin, and just about any new social media device that pops up. I’ve held internships with The Lisa Ekus Group, FamilyFun Magazine, Perseus Books, and Nicholas Brealey Publishing. I get asked what my “dream job” is a lot and though it changes just about every year, I would love to someday be an editor for a lifestyle magazine with a focus on fashion or food–preferably in LA or NYC.
